Resources for Planners

The PlanCheyenne process has taken some unique turns as it has developed, from our RFP process, to the unique format of our documents. The following resources provide a little insight 'behind the story', and represent some of the documents most often requested from planning staff. From the start, PlanCheyenne has focused on communication as one of the primary goals. In addition to the RFP, the plan's philosophy and a visual outline of the plan were provided to consultants to further illustrate the goals of the plan. These items were also helpful in communicating with elected officials and planning commissioners in convincing them to follow a somewhat unconventional planning process.

Consultants were also considered, and a few of the resources we created to help their process are included below. The "Consultant Contact" document provided specialized companies with a pool of other interested consultants with whom they might wish to create a team. And our "FAQ" page answered many questions about the project in an efficient and timely way that didn't require attendance at a pre-proposal meeting.

Bucking the RFP System

Public participation is one of the most important aspect of any planning process. To ensure that the activities and public involvement events were successful in meeting our goals and purposes, the PlanCheyenne team compiled the following Public Participation Matrix. This matrix describes the various events and identifies the purpose and benefits achieved by each activity. By considering the goals of our targeted outreach, public participation has become a more successful and driving principle in the PlanCheyenne process.

Advertising has also played an important role in PlanCheyenne. Below are some of the meeting announcements posted, sent, emailed, or published in the local newspaper.
